With an abiding love of nature developed roaming through the lush green fields, forests and streams of her Ohio childhood, artist Rosiland Solomon has always specialized in illustrating and designing nature-based products.
The artist began her career as an illustrator of science and reading textbooks, and after designing and illustrating thirteen other children’s books, she moved into illustrating and designing for clients as diverse as Walt Disney, Galoob Toys, Scholastic, Random House, Kensington Computer Products, Carnation, Hampton Brown, Travelsmith, Troll Publishing and Picture Window Books. She has even illustrated a Tarot Deck.
Originally trained in airbrushing guaches in a movie poster studio in Hollywood, Rosiland moved on to illustrating in pencil, ink, and mixed media. Now she generally works with her favorite paintbrushes in photoshop, creating art that still looks hand-drawn or painted, or her still-loved hand-drawn pen and ink, to create artwork that is gently and sweetly realistic.
