🐕 Puli Collection – Hungary's Ancient Corded Sheepdog

The Puli is one of the most visually extraordinary dog breeds in the world — a compact, agile Hungarian herding dog whose entire body is covered in a dense, naturally forming corded coat that resembles dreadlocks and can reach the ground in adult dogs. The Puli has been herding sheep on the Hungarian plains for over 1,000 years, brought to the Carpathian Basin by the Magyar tribes who migrated from Central Asia around 895 AD. The breed's corded coat is not a groomed style but a natural phenomenon: the soft undercoat and coarser outer coat intertwine as the dog matures, forming tight, woolly cords that provide exceptional insulation and protection against both cold and the bites of wolves and other predators. The cords take two to four years to fully form and can weigh several pounds on a mature dog. The Puli's coat most commonly comes in black, though rusty black, gray, and white varieties also exist. Despite its mop-like appearance, the Puli is an extraordinarily athletic and agile dog — capable of leaping onto the backs of sheep to survey the flock — and is known for its quick, bouncing, spring-like movement.
